Erkan Erdil
Erkan is an economist with abundant experience and knowledge in economics of technology, applied econometrics, economics of information and uncertainty. He is a professor at the Department of Economics, the director of Science and Technology Policies Research Center at METU and a board member of GLOBELICS, the global network for the economics of learning, innovation, and competence building systems. He also has taken part as a coordinator or researcher in various projects implemented for organizations such as the European Commission, World Bank, ILO and FAO.
He served as the National Delegate for Turkey for 7th Framework Programme, Research Potential and Regions of Knowledge between 2007 and 2013. He has been author/co-author, and referee of articles in American Economic Review, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Agricultural Economics, METU Studies in Development and presented papers to various international conferences. He teaches courses on introductory economics, microeconomics, statistics, econometrics, and technology and work organization.
Erkan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Public Administration, and his Master of Science degree in Economics from METU. He received Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Maastricht.
