Pierre Bourgogne

Pierre has more than 30 years of experience and expertise in the research & development (R&D) and innovation management. He works for high-tech firms in different sectors, such as advanced materials, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, agro-food, metal works, bio-indication to help them in strategic decision-making and innovation strategies and processes. Previously he created two high-tech companies, SEPAREX in 1985, operates in process engineering (chromatography and super critical fluids), and ETAP in 1991, specialized in pre-clinical ethological applications for pharmaceuticals and agro food industries. He serves as the chairman of the board of directors of the latter.

He has so far provided a variety of services to companies on strategy, innovation process, project management, and consortium building for R&D and innovation projects. He also offered help for the design and management of Eurostars projects on different fields, such as non-destructive control, health sector, agro-food, fertilizers, veterinarian products, robots, characterization devices, special machines, ICT.

Pierre provides consulting services to innovation intermediaries on strategy design, organizational development, business planning, project design and management, know-how transfer.

His services to research and innovation policy-makers include assistance in policy design, implementation and evaluation; strategic intelligence (economic intelligence and knowledge management), technology transfer, academic-industrial liaison, creation of innovative start-ups and spin-offs, development of clusters and competitiveness super-clusters, innovation management techniques, benchmarking, foresight, and the management of intellectual and industrial property.

Before starting to work as a consultant, Pierre worked as the Director of Innovation at the Regional Council of Lorraine for eight years. In this position, he was in charge of the projects related to the regional innovation system and worked, among others, in the creation of comprehensive regional program on strategic intelligence.
